Cleft palate (CP) is commonly associated with Otitis Media with Effusion. Recently,
use of ventilation tubes (VT) has reduced, in part, due to perception that CP patients
experience higher complication rates. This perception is flawed as control and experimental
groups used in previous studies differed significantly in age and sex. This study
investigates long-term complication rates following VT insertion using a nested case-controlled
design.
