Reviewer update: 2019 data and changes for 2020

      Like all other scientific journals, the peer review process for BJOMS relies on the efforts of volunteer reviewers who are selected according to their expertise. The editorial team, however, acknowledges the competing time pressures on colleagues and takes robust steps to avoid “reviewer fatigue”. Increasing numbers of submitted manuscripts of questionable quality are rejected by the editor without being sent out for peer review.
