In a prospective cohort study with 63 patients undergoing rhinoplasty, Dong et al
1.
showed that multimodal cocktail intercostal injection (MCII) was significantly superior
to the intercostal nerve block (ICNB) with/without intravenous patient-controlled
analgesia (IPCA) for chest pain control after costal cartilage harvest. Other than
the limitations described by the authors in the discussion, we would like to remind
readers about several issues concerning the design and results of this study, and
wish to invite the authors to comment.- Dong W.
