The aim introduces an audit of outcomes in the Oral and Maxillofacial Head and Neck
department over the last 9 years about fibular donor site morbidity (DSM) (n=86).
DSM is a well-recognized complication of fibular free-flap reconstruction with 30%
risk of complications, wound dehiscence, tendon exposure, graft failure. There is
no consensus on how long to leave graft undisturbed. We aim to outline oxford experience
leaving the bolster for 21 days, using the same type of dressing.
